"Il Fondatore" Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG Riserva 2021 from Montalbera is named in honour of the winery's founder Enrico Riccardo Morando, a revered Italian entrepreneur and pioneer of the Ruchè grape. Previously known as "Limpronta", "Il Fondatore" celebrates his enduring legacy and 30-year-long commitment to elevating Piedmont’s winemaking tradition. This limited-edition wine is crafted from grapes grown on the highest hills of Ruchè DOCG, over 300 metres above sea level, with optimal sun exposure and cooling breezes. Sustainably cultivated, the wine is aged for 10-12 months in second- and third-passage French oak barriques which results in a fresh, silky texture with natural tannins, and aromas of morello cherry, violets, and spices.
