In the early 20th century, mature German Rieslings were praised as masterpieces for their incredible ageing potential and harmonious balance and cost even more than Burgundies!
In 2001, Jochen Dreissigacker took over his family's winery founded in 1728 and restructured it according to his vision to make Dreissigacker synonymous with first-class, matured and high-quality German wines, with a truly Burgundian approach.
Their philosophy revolves around how ‘good things take time’:
The resulting wines are of impeccable quality, purity, power and complexity, with a highly unique focus on long-aged, mature Rieslings: ‘wines of understandable quality that speak for themselves’
The grapes for this Riesling come from four distinctive vineyards around Bechtheim, whose different soil types provide the basis for a village wine full of character. Aging in stainless steel brings out the character of the grape variety, while a small amount of wood and long yeast fermentation add so"ness and harmony. A perfectly balanced Riesling with enormous ageing potential
