Château Toulouze is located in the Graves de Vayres appellation, in the Bordeaux region, on the left bank of the Dordogne River. The blend of our wines is essentially made from the Merlot grape, giving its best on our gravels and sands terroirs. The appellation is small but famous. Indeed, historically, it is the second oldest appellation after Bordeaux. The First edition of the Féret (1832), the bible for Bordeaux wines, does mention it as the second wine of the Pomerol appellation. Once part of the huge Chateau de Vayres - which was split over the years - Chateau Toulouze became an estate of its own. The chateau is equally mentioned in the first Féret edition, highlighting the quality of the wines produced here. The estate has been sleeping for some time. But it is under rebirth now. Taken over 3 years ago, the new owner has invested a lot. In the vineyard: expanding from 30 to 40 hectares. In the cellar: the cellar and the Vat room have been completely renovated. The cultural management of the vineyard has changed: a new oenologist, a turn to organic production, agro pastoralism. The labels have been redesigned, etc… we are also implementing an ambitious project of wine tourism. Our range consists in : - CHATEAU TOULOUZE, 2018, Graves de Vayres aop - BLEU DE TOULOUZE, 2018 Graves de Vayres aop - ROSE DE TOULOUZE, 2021, rosé, Bordeaux aop COOL GRENOUILLE, 2018, Bordeaux AOP The premium quality of our wines meets the recognition of the major international wine contests. Our range extends to a selection of Chateaux in the most renowned Bordeaux appellations and also in a range of Grands Crus Classés and in Cognacs and Brandies of the best quality.
aaaaThe origins of our property date back to the Gallo-Roman period. It took its name from a general farmer collector who had a pretty castle built in the 18th century in the former town of St Trélody.
It is thanks in particular to the association "the circle of dreamers of history" that an important collection of archaeological objects has been found out, illustrating the centuries of activity present on the property.
From a flint scraper, dating back to the Paleolithic to the thimbles that helped to strip the vine, these little treasures of everyday life are a magnificent showcase of local history.
They are also a sign that many of our ancestors chose – not by chance – to take up residence in these lands that are still so hospitable today.
In 2019, two Czech wine enthusiasts bought Château Escot and began a gigantic work of restructuring the vineyard, hitherto neglected.
They are convinced of the originality and tremendous potential of this exceptional place.
Located in the town of Lesparre-Médoc, 60 km in the North of Bordeaux, Château Escot has a magnificent terroir, one of the oldest on the peninsula.
The Médoc, a mythical wine region, serves as a showcase for the property, located between the Ocean and the Estuary of the Gironde.
The 25 hectares that make up the Escot vineyard are composed of 30% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 68% Merlot, and 3% Petit-Verdot, a typical blend of the great wines of the Médoc.
The variety of our soils contributes to the complexity and richness of our wines: ranging from clay, limestone and sand, cold terroirs, favoring a slow maturity of the grapes and giving it great aromatic qualities; gravelly soils at the edge of the estuary favoring a good maturity of the grapes thanks to the mild and temperate climate and a good drainage of rainwater forcing the roots to feed deeply and thus bringing a beautiful concentration and aromatic complexity.
Great challenges await us, especially with the renovation of the castle and the reconstruction of the technical buildings in 2023. The range is also expanding with the arrival of our second label Forêt Escot, « Forest Escot « in English, a prestigious cuvée, Tresor Escot « Treasure Escot » in English, our rosé wine, Les Sorbiers Escot, and our white wine, Château Escot Blanc.
We sincerely hope to inspire consumers by awakening their taste buds but also by welcoming them in a prestigious, warm place where the human remains the heart of our work.

Vineyard between the mountains (2500 metres at their peak) and the “Diana Lagoon” and stretch across the gently sloping hills of two very different terroirs; the mountainous terroir of the plateau de Pianiccia and the maritime terroir of the coastal strip. This unique environment allows the vines to capture the incredible luminosity of the Mediterranean sun yet benefit from the influence of the mountains at night to produce grapes which are bright in colour and bursting in flavour. The contrasting effects of the altitude and the Tyrrhenian Sea result in wines which show remarkable complexity and a distinctive character.
